Finding a good book for toddlers isn’t too hard nowadays. I personally can walk into a Barnes and Nobels and get lost in there for hours, both in the adult and in the kid’s section.
So I have pulled together a list of 15 great books for toddlers to help you from getting sucked into the black hole that bookstores can be.
There are a few different things I took into consideration when picking these books. First, off I used Geoff as my guinea pig to figure out what books could actually hold two-year-olds attention. Then looked into if it teaches something and if it’s interactive. The list below is what we ended up with.
- Goodnight Moon Board Book by Margaret Wise Brown. This is a great classic perfect to teach your kiddos a bedtime routine. Not to mention its in board book form which helps prevent page rips.
2. Baby Touch and Feel: Animals by Dorling Kindersley. This is a good interactive book where kids and touch and feel certain things on the page for each animal .
3. First 100 Words by Roger Priddy, Board Book. This again as a board book is great for that reason alone. But I love this book because it names items with real pictures vs. drawings.
4. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBrantey. This one I may like more than my kiddo. It’s one of those they learn to appreciate as they get older. It helps explain you love them no matter what.
5. Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes by Annie Kubler, Board Book. One of the important toddler development phases is being able to name body parts, this is a great book for that.
6. Noisy Farm by Tiger Tales, Board Book. Not only can they learn popular farm animals, but the book also does realistic farm animal sounds! Fun for everyone, especially when you hear your toddler copy the animal noise.
7. Dinosaur vs. the Potty Board Book by Bob Shea. I personally love and own the whole Dinosaur vs. books by Bob Shea. This one however makes the list because it really helped my kiddo get a step closer to potty training.
8. Biscuit is Thankful by Alyssa Satin Capucilli. For me teaching manners and to have Geoff understand that being thankful is important and good was a priority. This book is great to teach thankfulness.
Happy Reading!
